View Past Projects
Our custom presses can also be developed to accommodate high off-center loading and high position precision.
Possible features and configurations include:
- Deep slides – ensure stable guidance and accuracy
- Lubricated guiding – reduces wear and extends press life
- Spherical split collars – handle eccentric loads effectively
- Direct or accumulator hydraulic drives – optimize speed and energy use
- In-press die monitoring – maintain quality and reduce scrap
Precision Forging Machines Available in Capacities up to 30,000 Tons
Available in capacities up to 30,000 tons and beyond, our presses are engineered with finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize part quality. The result: high-precision forging that supports low-cost, high-volume manufacturing.
Macrodyne’s hot forging presses can feature a wide variety of options, including hydraulic ejectors, knock-out arrangements, die shuttles, quick die change packages, and more. Hydraulic systems can be either oil or water-based, and are available for the following hot forging applications:
Open Die Forging
- Upsetting – compressing a billet to increase diameter at one section (common for flanges, shafts, and fasteners)
- Cogging – progressively reducing the cross-section of a billet while lengthening it (often used in preparing ingots or billets for further forging)
- Ring blank forging – forming seamless rings for bearings, gears, turbines, and aerospace structures
- Drawing (solid forging) – elongating material into thinner sections, typically for rods, shafts, or wires
- Piercing – driving a punch into a billet to produce hollows or tubes, often as a precursor to seamless pipe production
Closed Die Forging (Impression Die Forging)
- Automotive components – connecting rods, crankshafts, gears, axle beams
- Aerospace parts – turbine disks, landing gear, structural components
- Industrial hardware – hand tools, fasteners, fittings
- Construction equipment parts – brackets, levers, joints
- Defense applications – projectiles, housings, and other high-strength components
