Special Focus on GO-SPF
At Farnborough, Macrodyne will place special emphasis on Gas Oscillation Superplastic Forming, known as GO-SPF.
Traditional superplastic forming has long been used to produce complex aerospace components from materials such as titanium and aluminum alloys. The challenge is that conventional SPF can be slow, costly, and difficult to scale for production environments where throughput matters.
GO-SPF changes the forming process by using controlled gas oscillation to improve material flow during superplastic forming. The result is a more advanced approach to forming complex geometries, with potential benefits including faster forming speeds, improved formability, more uniform wall thickness, and greater opportunities for lightweighting.
